I swore that my new setup would be sps only tank and I went head I sold all my chalices and acans and even my two famous BTA's....
The other day I came across this carpet anemone which is about 5 to 6" long and it really shows rainbow colors ..I am no anemone expert but I hve never seem such nemo...buddy mike is selling this on other online source and owes me a favor and I am getting this literally for nothing ..... Well question is will this nemo will hold its color in a gud care???
Or it will loose its color when they grow...
I hve successfully kept anemones for about a year and loved em....I sold the other ones as I tore down my previous system and but couldn't pass this after I saw it...still considering this dnt know for sure ...what r your alls opinion???!

Gaping mouth is bad. Carpets also aren't the best shippers. They are slightly easier to keep than mags but it's a big risk. These are also really really sticky. Like glue. This is why they are reported fish eaters. Does he know if it's a gig or haddoni? Sorry for the choppy sentences but I'm on my phone. I love the colors but would have him hold it until that mouth closes up some more.

Yeah mike has some sick stuff. I've never seen one with the colors so vibrant like that. I'm sure he would hold it until that mouth closes up. Or it may have since he took that picture. Just remember that the Gigantea can get huge like 3-4 feet across if I remember correctly.

Yeah. Open mouth is no bueno. Usually means its on its way down and out. But if you decide against it. Let me know the site. Ha ha. Just kidding. No more carpets for me.

That is STUNNING.
However, they are MUCH harder to keep than BTAs. Probably an order of magnitude.
BTAs are reasonable tankmates. Not great, but reasonable. Haddonis... Not so much.

With your fish list I would pass then. I would hate to see one of your expensive wrasses slowly be eaten by this.

I can tell you one thing... I need to work where you work, lucky. :)
That thing is nice, but it will be awhile before I could trust another online shop. That thing is beautiful.

I have one but its just basic green. and they do get huge absolutely huge. Also I might gynx myself here but my husbandry is not the best at all and mine is doing ok. Ive had him for about 6 months or so. I have a bare bottom tank now and im scared to put him in there because their foot is so strong it might knock of my rock work.

Hard to tell, but it could be a maxi-mini. I bought one locally that was being sold as a "pink and green carpet.". They really prefer rocks, whereas the bigger ones like sand. That's not a foolproof way to ID, but if the nem is sticking to rocks and displaying that many colors... My 2 cents says maxi-mini. They get 6" or so, and mine hasn't moved at all since it settled in.
