Purchased mixed saltwater question

Folks, how long is the saltwater you get from AD or Elegant Reef or anyone else good for? How long can you leave it sitting before using it? Surely it isn't indefinitely. I'd like to do a small waterchange, and I happen to have 6 gallons of water sitting around, but I have no idea how old it is.

Aerate it with a power head, then check salinity and other parameters

it's good for a while, as long as the salinity is right. older water is better, as long as there are no foreign bodies in it, and as long as it is kept circulating in some way, there should be no real issue with aging your water. i have mixed water and let it sit for a month before use with no ill effect. i just made sure it was the correct salinity, as it tends to fluctuate due to evaporation.
