Yep my 210 decided to give me a ton of sw. AT 1AM. Lukily I had a 125 and 75 working so I saved livestock, coral, and LR.
If somebody is near the Bandera and Mainland area and can pickup a 210 let me know.
sw is everywhere. I have cleaned up but am a zombie.
Edhas2 and I were able to carry to the truck before but are faces looked strained. lol To say the least. LOL
Id like to get at least 2 free helpers to help move it to the truck. Id like to shoot for noon sharp. should take 1 minute not long.
I think somebodys driving around with a transmitter and breaking all these big tanks. lol
Doesnt make any sense.
lmk and Ill pm address

Whoa...yeah, something is fishy with all the tanks breaking lately. That's why I just decided to get away from 200+...it's a lot of weight and not a lot of room for error. Where did yours crack at? I can help after 5 if you still need any, I'm at work now.

So have you determined where the water escaped from?

Fri, 18th May 2012, 11:02 AM
There could be a crack on the bottom but i dont see it. When the sw was coming out it seemed to be coming out of the bottom molding or bottom trim.
Thats why I want to get it over to FP today before they close so they could evaluate and let me know next week.

The bottom molding or bottom trim has 2 bottom braces including the ends which would make 4 bottom braces. Its holding up the bottom glass.
I must have put too much weight in the tank and the bottom glass droppped to the top of the bottom braces. Saving the bottom. Im gonna make a call.
disregard its supposed sit on them. lol

Definitely sounds like a seal went. I think it's actually rather uncommon that they break, especially on the bottom since it's tempered, I was just one of *those* lucky people. How level was the tank? And I was thinking about your floors earlier...don't you have hardwood in that room? How did that fare out?
BBQHILLBILLY
Fri, 18th May 2012, 01:49 PM
Hey rrasco. Everything was level. Floors are vinyl wanting tile. I added more LR and this 125RR/75. Maybe it pitched it a bit.

Yeah, there really is no telling me thinks. I kind of think mine broke because I shimmed the tank to make it flush. Probably a bad idea in hindsight. I think when seals break they were weak to begin with or the tank was not level causing it to put too much deflection on one or more panes, thus increasing stress on seams. You would hope it wasn't weak seams since you just had those redone. I'm sure we'll never really know why, but just thinking out loud here.
On a side note, I've been trying to devise a system that if my tank ever broke again it drains outside instead of making in indoor pond. As of now, that system is a garage installation.

Thats not a bad idea. I used plywood on top of a stand. The bottom of the plywood was NOT wet. If a trim was placed around the plywood and sealed, thats interesting idea.
Could allways use custom rain gutters. lol But on a serious note the bottom of the plywood is not wet. Run pvc from the plywood trimmed to direct sw to the garage.

You could use a liner on the plywood with trim not high but just enough to direct the water flow. This way you could reuse the plywood.
Also all your time could be spent finding the coral, LR, and fish, shrimp, etc . . . another location.
I was trying to do that and maintain a flood. LOL
The trim around the wood would cut your time in half. Good idea I will try. Thanks rrasco
