I'm looking to purchase a tank controller and it has come down to these two. I have heard both good and bad things about them so I was just curious as to which ones you guys are using and how much you like them. The biggest thing for me right now is that the apex has internet capability and I can see whats going on while I'm out of town or in class while the RKL has a display and has audible and visual alarms.

I have both reef keeper lite and elite and have had no issues. Some say Apex has better service, but with ER carrying them service is not going to be an issue. Both can be connected to the internet.

If you were starting a new build and had to pick one, which would you purchase?

ive owned a rkl and now own a rk elite, love how simple they are. programing the reef keeper's is very simple, took me about hour to mount and program my setup and i have 3x pc4, sl1, and sl2, also run my ato off it, monitor ph, orp, salinity. if your going to get a bigger tank with more gadgets plan ahead and get a rke, the rkl is nice but you can only plug in a total of 4 modules.

Do you know if they are mac compatible through the myreef software?
