I was wondering if one mp10 will be ok in a 75 gallon, coupled with one koralia 1050 on the opposite end for supplemental flow.

Right now I have 3 koralias with a wavemaker but the vortechs have always interested me and I thought I might try one out. Would it be worth the move for a vortech?

you would basically have to run it full blast constantly to see any significant results on that sized tank. I have an MP10 on my 60 cube and i'm not sure even 2 would by enough flow by themselves. they are great pumps but I would go with at least a PM40 on a 75

mp-10 would be a waste of good money, i would hold out on for a mp-40. i ran a mp-40 and mp-10 on my 70g(36x18x27) tank and that was perfect flow. but one 40 would have worked i just like over doing stuff

I have a mp10 in the 20 long and have to crank it all the way up to get flow on the other side of the tank.....

I would save a little more and get the 40, I was going to do what Chris had in his tank, 1 40/ 1 10.... I am so glad I didn't.... I don't think it would have made a impact as adding another 40 did...

But yes, some ppl don't like the vortechs price but if u can afford it, why not.... I like the little space it takes up in the tank and the adjustability.......

Good to know, I heard mixed reviews on whethere it would work, guess I'll hold on to my 1050s.

Don't get me wrong, the mp 10 can get things rocking in that frag tank but it has to be cranked up and just disturbs everything.....

alot has to do with my tank dimensions though....

I talked to Louis about the same thing depends on what coral you have

well the koralias I have currently definetely move things, a little too much at times it seems. But I do like the slim design and sleek look of the vortechs. Guess I'll save my pennies for 40 later on.

They will usually last longer also (IMO). They are not in the water, so less to heat up the tank and they take less room. We have 4 MP40s on the 210g and they are great. Save your pennies up and I think you will be happier if you do.
