This thread is meant to see what is everyones favorite species they collect for your tanks.
For example mine has gone from rare BTA to now being rare chalices. I recently took the plunge on SPS and have been getting great growth so when the tank is set up again I am 99% sure my vice will be acros.
So for the time being it's chalices for me.

i started collecting chalices back in 05 or 06 when prices werent too expensive and really surprise me these days that nicer color ones runs no less 500 and goes up to 1500 for an eye which can easily bankrupt you..

That's a tough one, but I'd have to say we collect the fish... LOTS of them! And we have several that are a little unusual that not everyone keeps.

Zoas, chalices, and............tanks.
Setting up a double stack shallow frag this evening. That will make 8. With three more waiting in the wings.
And then the upgrades begin :)

Well for me and those who have followed my plight I started with a predetor tank and have morphed into a more reef tank with Zoas and Toadstool and xenias and a few fish no bigger than 1 1/2 inch at the biggest. I went to Alamo Aquatics last week and caught a bunch of stuff on sale!! The only thing I got that I am worried about is an Orange Carnation or Tree coral that when I got home it says (Expert Only) I don't know what to do with it! I have it in the shade of a rock like it says with the water flow like it says but I don't want to lose it via death. so I might take it back soon! Everybody knows I'm no expert...

Ha! Up until recently, I had 12 tanks running. I'm trying to downsize the number of tanks I have and just keep a few big ones so I can focus on them more. Thankfully I'm currently down to 6, one of which is the current reef that will be moved to the rimless once I'm ready. Of course, I have a few in the garage with 'intentions' as well.
As for what I collect, everything. I like variety. A few softies, some LPS, and some SPS. I guess I mainly have LPS though, I like their size and colors. Now that I finally got my ca, kh, and mg test kits and two-part dosing, things are looking way better for my sps though. Actually, everything looks way better since I leveled out my nutrients. I'm excited.

I collect Zoas and Palys. Nothing that is necessarily rare, if it's pretty and catches my eye then I'll buy it. My favorite frag right now is a 5 head blue tubbs frag I got from Allan. They are quite pretty.
