I am getting back into the Hobby and I have found that many have done away with VHO and besides they are dang expensive now.( Of which I can not believe lol. ) But I have a pair of 4OO Watt electronic ballasts and 2 brand new 400 Watt XM 20K Bulbs.

So before I build the hanging canopy for these lights are they too much or would I be better of to trade them to someone that needs 400 Watts for a pair of 250's?

The Tank is an Oceanic 125 Gal 6 foot long and 24 tall.

Thank You for any help. :)

I ran 2x250MH DE retros on a 180RR 2ft tall and had 2 much light for the tops of the LR but had a lot of success with coral. Fish may have to much light.

400MH no experience with but from I read they are for deeper tanks.

I plan on running two 250s and one 400 on my new tank.

Whew!

Gonna send you a pm... Question about the piping wire diagram.

Sorry for the off topic comments, cliff.

That 75 that the yellow was in was powered by two 250s. My current chiller turns on in the afternoon depending on house temp.

FYI on my 300DD with 3 x 250w Radiums I have a PAR level of 250 on the sand where I keep Frogspawn(does very well), green birdsnest(does very well), and bird of paradise(does ok, I just keep some there because I have too many already). After the deduction of substrate it is about 23" to 24" of water depth
