Well, folks, I've finally done it. I just installed the dimmable 24 LED retrofit kit for the BioCube from Rapid LED. It was a chore, but the installation looks totally professional (after purchasing some extra parts from Radio Shack), and I don't see how I could be happier with the results. The shimmer is awesome, the intensity is out of this world, and being a 50/50 mix of cool white and royal blue, I get OUTSTANDING pop from the corals, right off the bat.

My corals were not doing well after losing a ballast, then another light burned out, leaving me two 36w PCs for my corals, including some really nice LE acros. Needless to say, they were not happy, not to mention the bulbs were all over a year old, so I was starting to grow algae. That's all behind me now.

My signature promised great modifications to the stock BioCube, and with the new lights, I have really delivered. Next, I think, will be a Neptune Systems controller.

I'm going to get one of our photography gurus out to photograph the tank, and maybe even put together a build thread as well.
