I have been using BRS two part to keep up with Alk and Calc. almost since the tank has been set up...Corals are growing really fast and I have been having to Dose 60ml or 2oz per DAY in order to keep up. if I don't do this much at least.. I start to see base recession.. Could my corals really be sucking up this much on a daily basis..?? my flower pedal cap alone is growing about 1/8" a week.. I just pulled it out to take a large chunk off and its already growing back onto the rock..Just curious if anyone else is having to dose this much?,.. I just ordered 2 dosing pumps so I can dose slower without dumping so much in a once...

:angel:Complaining because I have to do it by hand every day!!!! but I guess bragging a bit as well since I have about a 1/4 inch of new growth tips on the frag I just got from you:bigsmile:

Cool! I love my bubblemagus doser. I can dose mag, calc, and alk all automatically. I really should test my water though since I just pulled all the SPS out and make sure it still wants all of that stuff.

60ml per day sounds right. I was dosing 90ml on my 75 gallon, 160ml on my 125 gallon, and 360ml on my 240 gallon.

Good, that makes me feel better because i'm probably going to have to up it by about 10ml.

360 ml?!? Ouch. I just started experimenting with two part on my 240 gal. I got tired of fiddling with my Ca reactor. Is BRS cheaper than B-ionic?

I had same problem but ended up with your old kalk reactor aka the beast! now I only dose trace and potassium by hand.

How big is the tank? I dose 70ml daily on my 105. I finally moved to dosing pumps a few weeks ago, so much better not to have to remember to do it daily. Plus nobody ever understands why "I have" to go home and dose my tank.

Which dosing pumps did you order?

I have not used any 2-part solution other than BRS, but I hear they are pretty cheap compared to others. I also believe you can reduce costs further by using a DIY recipe.

I'm thinking of buying a couple of these Aquahouse pumps:

Do those require a timer or is it built-in? Looks like it's built-in, but I wasn't sure. If they don't need a timer, not a bad deal. I have the MarineMagic 1+1 dosing pumps. They work well. Just a bit pricier than 2 of those linked above would be.

The Aquahouse one doesn't need a timer, so they come out way less than $100/pump. I was trying to find the ones BRS has but can't find any stock anywhere. Those need timers. The Bubble Magus looks elegant. I think I'm going to go cheap. I hope that doesn't mean they will wear out fast.
