Reef Keeper Lite & The Complete Idiot

All excited that I bought a RKL - Then came the programming part. Had it working fine and now all it will recognize is the temp. probe. I feel like a complete idiot. Went so far as to get a few things going, then decided to start over and hit the factory reset. Then I went to web site and upgraded firmware after downloading reef keeper 2.0. I feel like going back to basics that have suited me fine for last 2-3 years. All I wanted to do was have it turn on and off lights and use as a wavemaker for 2 koralias, then expand a little down the road. Why is this so difficult?

Are you using the Koralia evolutions with the RKL? I'm thinking of doing that and was curious how they work with the RKL.

when you upgraded did you upgrade the pc4 and the head unit. every piece needs to be upgraded. it was pain to
do mine, 3x pc4, sl1,sl2, and pc1

Upgraded both the head and pc4 seperately, multiple times. Now the pc4 is not even showing up on the menu. It's only showing rkl 2.06. This IS a pain. Status light on pc4 blinks red and ch4 does not light up either.

After updating firmware for all modules, I have decided the pc4 is defective.

Uh oh! Bring it by the shop along with the head unit and your sid2.0 and I'll see if I can un-brick it for you. If not I have a spare you can borrow in the meantime.

On the reef keeper lite Karin had issues with an upgrade, me I have had mine for a long time with no upgrades and am still very happy. I am not sure what the upgrades are for?

Bought a evolution (1400) and hooked it up ....works great!
