Does anyone know what kind of drain system DSA uses? I'm looking specifically at a DSA 130 which has a center overflow, but what kind of drains does it have and how much can it handle? I don't want anything loud so I'm trying to decide between their standard tank or having them make something custom, or possibly just give me more holes in the overflow so I can install my own system.

Yeah, I was talking to elegant right now about it.

get duals (so 4 holes total, that's what I did on my 85g and love it)...you will be thankful you spent the extra money.

Also, use the megaflow kits, they work great on DSA tanks and they are quiet. Pretty sure Elegant can order the mega flow kits for you as well.

Looks like the prices on the DSA tanks went up about 30% since I got quotes in December, puts that tank way out of my budget.

I really would like a new DSA, so I may drop down to an 80 or 90 depending on what pricing is. If I do, it will definitely have 3 drains and 1 return at a minimum. Gonna go to ER at lunch and go over my options.

all dry goods went up this year 20-30% . just how it is at moment. old saying "you get what you pay for" I love my DSA 70g best built tank I've owned (before my 150 ;) )

I am thinking about getting a 105 NEO, 48x24x21. Waiting for the quote with stand.

I used the mega flow kits Rob mentioned. Those were great and much quieter than the marineland kits.
Before I converted the 60g cube to megaflow drain it was actually louder than my 215 tank

Are the mega flows a drain system? If anything, I'll probably build my own drains. I know how to quiet it down if I have enough holes. The NEO 105 I just saw has 4 so I can run 3 drains and 1 return. Of course, the price has to be right. I hope so!

It's drain and return. Also includes the bulkheads which you will have to buy anyways.

Think I paid $55 from the LFS, I got it with dual returns and purchased two kits, plus they are adjustable.

Thanks. Is there a link for that? I tried to search real quick but didn't see a product site.

there are a few kits on ebay...MegaFlow is wholesale only so you need to find an online vendor or go through your LFS.
