Ok, so tebstan and I are thinking about changing out a 6x54w t5 setup for a 2x 150w g12 MH, 2x 54 t5 fixture. My main concern would be the increase in light output, I know the dual MH's will need to start out being on for only a few hours a day then slowly increase the duration they are on. My question is what would be a safe lenght of time to start with, 3 hours, 4 hours? Any opinions would be nice, Thanks.

Yeah, thinking about getting one. The reflectors are small and basic, but I have to say I love how you can angle them around.

That's your main concern?! I'm freaked out about the whole thing. It's a lot of money and electricity precariously balanced over a box of money and water :nailbiting:

Do you mean on the halide or the T5, or both? Either way, it's probably better than what I've got...

90g on an almond colored stand. He's worried about the technical stuff... I want to make sure the new custom canopy matches my pretty stand.

You all will love the light. The timers on it are the shiz, the way you can angle the lighting is a plus as well. I really wish they would have added 2 more t5s or that the hids could shift from left to right.. But then again I wish I would have bought a 60" fixture for my tank.
Its been a good light to me and AL's customer service is very good... Where ever you buy it, see if they will swap the 10k bulbs for the 14k... It looks alot better IMO

About the light swap....
There was a bad batch of 10k bulbs out there, that's what CS told me and AL swapped them for 14ks for free...

The bad batch of bulbs concerns me, but everyone says their customer service is great.
I like a really white look so the 10k might be fine for me. I've only seen the one at AD, which I'm assuming is the stock 10k.
3 out of 6 of my T5s are 6700K. Sounds crazy, I know, but stuff that looks bad in other tanks looks good in mine. :D Of course, stuff that looks good in other tanks... well.
This light would be a huge upgrade, a major shift - in color, and par.

as much as i like the product slick looks/ nice digi timer /decent looking ......i always wonder about them ...being some one who sold 1-2 a week i can tell you for some reason they have more issues then any of the other fixtures but they do take care of the issue

Besides that bulb I haven't had a issue in the 1+ year ive owned it.... And you sold it to me too... Lol
Well besides the bulb... But there CS quickly sent me a free set of 14k
What kind of issues JT?

I'd like to hear the issues, too. The same issue multiple times, or many different issues? Any associated with the electronics on the display?
Are you comfortable giving an estimate/percent? Say you sold about one a week for a year - out of 50, how many called back with problems?

I agree with tebstan, prefer the LED vs MH anyday for power consumption and longevity of the bulb. I would be more concerned of the overall cost to purchase and maintain..=)
