seen a Led Light today at home depot and it was a 5000k was just wondering if these were any good?

Europhyllia used them for macro algae with success. Wouldn't use 'em for the display tank. You should look at the ecoxotic stunner strips or the par38 bulbs if you want a lower cost led setup.
