So I finally got my frag tank going.......

I bought the tank used from BBQHILLBILLY, after sitting in my garage a few weeks it was taken over to ACE to drill it. I then took 3 days painting the back and bottom, 1 coat a day.

I bought a stand locally and was planning to use a led fixture, even buying a aquaticlife light hanger, I ditched the LED and hanger..

Bought a weenie fish, but wasnt thrilled to find out he was too big for the tank and he wouldnt be happy if I filled it with water

I then had louis at ELEGANT make me a sump, very good work...(I added the egg crate divider to hold some LR)

I then learned a little plumbing:thumbs_up:

THE lights (the fixture a local shop said were never made) that again ELEGANT was able to get in 3 days.(swapped all bulbs out for 1 ati coral plus, 1 ati aqua blue special, 2 ati blue plus)

And of course the corals with some eggcrate stands I made..... I will probably make another set up to maximize the space, this was made in about 45 minutes....

Some of the corals are not to thrilled with the transfer, but with in time, Im sure they will perk back up.....

I am skimmerless at the moment, I figure my aquapod went without a skimmer for close to a year, I am sure this tank can..... But I have a spot set up for a bubble magnus if I change my mind.....

I will be doing weekly water changes though..

Some ppl hate the single cords on the fixtures.... I love them, it's so much cleaner. No fans and built in digital timers, what's not to like? I have another AL fixture on the 110 and that thing has been good to me as well...

Thanks Louis....

Very basic but it works..... Missing the shimmer of LEDs though.... Might have to scoop up a stunner or something...

WHat would benefit my tank more? A small fuge or a small(as big as I can fit) skimmer??????......

Came out great man, do you want a skimmer or feel you NEED a skimmer? I have never had a skimmer on my 38 and it does just fine with weekly water changes.

well I was trying to go without one....... and everything looks fine. I never had one on my aquapod for the 10 months it was up and never had a issue... But I am getting a little LHA on my racks, weird cause its not on my rocks.....

Might just have to bust out the test kit, which I hate doing.

I do have a spot ready for a bubble magnus skimmer....... just trying to delay spending anymore on this tank.....

On my lights I swapped out the coral plus for the ge starcoat 65K bulb. I also swapped the aqua blue for one of the factory aquatic life 453 cause with the the GE and the aquablue, it was too white.

You think maybe the GE is causing this unwanted growth? some ppl online claim this bulb cause algae growth..... But I dont like to believe what I read everywhere...

I've read changing the spectrum can cause outbreaks as well. Also when the bulbs are old it may cause an algae outbreak. I had a small outbreak when I moved a few frags from my 38 with t5s to my hex with MH. Peroxide took care of that, I would just wait it out or trying switching the bulb back for a while.

I am using chemipure elite, hoping that does the trick... When I test today I will see what I need to do but I am sure I already know....

Might just scoop up a skimmer... Idk..
