I also noticed that SAWS indicates that this area NORMALLY uses chloramine for disinfection. Somewhere I recalled that SAWS wasn't using chloramine - which is really tough on RO units.

I wouldn't be to worried about this unless you use straight tap water. If you are using RODI water your membrane and filters will take care of any disinfection byproducts that might be in the water. If you click on the link at the bottom of the page, it says that they are just switching from a chloramine based disinfection to a chlorine disinfection. So nothing to worry about.

Just use prime or a quality dechlorinator and you should be good to go.

If it's just chloramine or chlorine, absolutely.

For a cichlid build, you really want good hard aquifer water. Since it's a build (with no fish, right?), just fill it up. Nothing else is needed.

You wouldn't believe how many motor homes are still in the bottom of Lake Dunlop. Looks like they will be gettng you off of algae water and back on aquafer water in time. I have Green Valley and they use Chloramines which also gets there water from CRWA Communist.

I'm a regular at Dave's - he says he can tell when a reefer comes in for snails. 'Cause I buy a "clean up crew" of 30 or more! He says freshwater folks buy 1 or 2...
Dave says pick your favorite 2 or 3 Africans. That will then dictate what you can keep with them.
