I think its Petsmart that have those $1/gallon specials including the 40 gallons. I am using a 40 gallon on a tall 40inch stand 4ft long stand. If you can find me a
75 Ill sell you the 40 gallon for $40. lmk

petco does the dollar per gallon sell, and I just missed it, I was there a month or so ago and they had atleast 8 40 breeders

I just posted an Oceanic 50 gallon w/stand and glass lids. It is taller than the 40.

If you need it the 40 height you can put sand or rock on the 1st 3inches and make it a 40. I have extra sand too if interested.

I need to sell the 40 or 50 but I also need $85 because it comes with stand and glass lids. I also need to get a 75 gallon for this 4ft stand. lmk

I might be able to do $75 for 40 gallon w/stand and glass lids. But I need to pull LR and livestock and coral. Wont take long.

I'm convinced Petco never really discontinues the $1/gallon sale. If they are really not offering it, maybe check another store. There has not been a time I have been in there in the last year or two they were not doing it. Then again, I only go there for the cheap tanks.
