So I bought a baby clown fish yesterday he's about a half inch long for my 14 gallon biocube. I'm looking at him today and see small white spots on the top part of his body and fins? Is this ich? How do I treat him? Other fish in the tank are a yasha goby and pistol shrimp along with some hermit crabs and turbo snails. Also have a few soft corals in there.

it probably is ich have you heard of a cleaner wrasse they sell them for 10 dollars they will clean any disease off of the other fish and they are reef safe

Thanks but not sure I want a wrasse in a 14 gallon biocube.

If I take the clown out to treat in a QT will the ich still be in my biocube or does ich just live on the fish? Also I had not seen any signs of ich on my yasha goby and he's been in the tank for a little over 2 weeks.

just let him be..as long as he is eating hell make it..what i would do is soak the food in garlic guard just so it will help him keep eating..if he slows down..
some may say ich will alway be in ur tank.. iv dun both ..qt,an let a clown stay in..i just feed him with the garlic an never seen it on him or any other fish or in the tank..
i have some garlic guard an if u r going to qt..i have some cupramine u can have if u need..

Thanks everyone. This is my first time having ich. I fed him earlier and he ate a little. I'll get some garlic guard at Polly's. Thanks for the offer KING but I'll go buy some since it's always good to have around. Thanks to everyone else as well.

For right now I'll leave him in the tank. Going to do a water change tonight. Was planning this already. I'll keep an eye on him. If it gets worse then I'll take him out and QT.

The only way to get rid of ich is hypo for all fish and leaving your tank fishless in the meantime.

btw, do not treat your main tank with cupramine (copper) as that is toxic to inverts and corals. rob (mr. cob) has had some success with a coral safe ich treatment, but i am not sure what it is called. you may want to send him a pm.

Thanks for the feed back. I ended up not having to treat the clown. I did a water change that night and the next day the ich was down to a couple of spots and as of today it's all gone. Thanks for all of the helpful feed back.
