t5 bulbs for red/pink/purple

Curious if anyone has used both the ATI purple+ and the giesemenn aqua pink bulbs. Both cover the same color spectrums but the giesemenn bulb looks like it would have a stronger red output but also seems to have more blue output aswell, plus it costs alot more then a ATI bulb.

What size fixture do you have? I have a purple plus 48" if you want to try it out. I only had it a few months and although it did look good, my fixture only has 2 t5s and I wasn't really happy with the spectrum.

Thanks for the offer, but I don't have a fixture or a tank to try one on. I'm just planning my next build, so I'm trying to figure everything out before I start.

after looking at the bulb for a while i truly hate it ... i just dont like the color it gives off for a 4 bulb fixture not to sure how it would look on a 2 or 6 bulb

It looks ok, I think I am happier with the 2 blue plus.....


i would be happier with some AI sols.

I've used both of those bulbs, though the ATI were 80w and the Giesseman 54w. I liked the color of the ATI better, the Giesseman looked kinda like a white bulb for me. In my current 6 bulb set up I have:

2 ATI blue plus
1 ATI purple plus
1 ATI actinic
1 KZ Fiji purple
1 ATI aquablue

I really like how it looks :)
