I'm looking for some reviews/info on the neo nano, I want to start a plan for a nano sided tank. I dont want to go smaller then 15 or bigger then 35-40. The other few tank I like are AIO tank, but I don't know if I like that or not. The dsa neo nano looks like it could be a great smaller RR tank. My biggest questions are, how is the build quality and how well does the dual overflow and waterfall return work. I kind of like the shallow cube idea, it would work good for both of my stocking list ideas. I've only seen one of these tanks in person at Gabe's but I had my 57g then so I never payed that close attention to it.

I had one in my office when they first came out. I liked the look because of being something different, corals did very well. Things I didn't like was it was an open top and I lost a couple of fish due to jumping. Things you will have to consider is building a stand to hide plumbing because the overflows plumb out of the back. I also cut holes in the bottom of the water fall to add current to the bottom of the tank. I used a lumenbright reflector due to the tank being 24" x 24"

Why do you say "I used a lumenbright reflector due to the tank being 24"x24" " Do most MH pendants not cover a 24" area very well?

I really like mine except for the small leak from the bottom of the back panel ( i really don"t know what was the cause). You have to some mods to it to make it run smoother . Like adding the plumbing to the return fitting inside the overflow box to prevent too much back siphon when the return pump is turned off. You also have to enlarge the two holes at the bottom of the overflow box to prevent clogs in the future. It should only takes 5 minutes to do the mods though so no big deal. Another thing is heat issue since it so shallow.

I tried one of the clip on MH fixtures like they show on there website, looked good, but it wasn't enough light. So I made a bracket to suport the Lumenbright

Sorry Stephen did not mean to take over your thread, but on answering your question when I first set mine up I thought hey it is shallow won't take alot of light but that was not the case because you still have a 24" x 24" foot print. To have something to compare it would be like lighting up 1/2 of a 120 or 4' x 2' tank? If you get the tank maybe you can borrow different types of lighting to try, you are more than welcome to borrow one of my lumenbrights with a 250w dimming ballast to see what it would look like. Another idea maybe a AI Sol hung high enough to get enough spread?

Karin I had a six line wrasse in the tank from the beginning, when it jumped I felt really bad. So when we moved offices I sold it. Today all of my tanks are covered.

Looks like a nice tank setup, I've never used MH so I'm shocked that It would need a 250w, I would have thought a 150w would be great.

Now that I think about it I have no idea why I used 250w MH? Other than my other tank used 250 watters and I wanted to stay the same? Plus I wasn't paying the electric bill
