I will be ordering a Bridgelux 3W LED diy in a couple of weeks. Im trying to find an autocontroller for the diy.

Other than timers for each driver, is there anything else out there to look at for a diy?

Thanks

Surprisingly I have been using a Marineland 1WATT LED fixture and vhos on a 30 inch deep tank and my coral are hanging on since the upgrade.

I built 2- 24 dimmable kits from them. I must say these leds are impressive. What is this autocontroller you speak of? It sounds cool.

NICE. Im trying to find out if there is one compatible. Send me some pics of your diy. Do you run at half or full light and how deep is your tank? curious how you built it
Im still a couple weeks away. Trying to rebound from Christmas still. lol I will probably get three of those diy for my 210.

The problem with those kits is the drivers they come with use analog signals for dimming. You have two methods of dimming with a controller, 0-10v analog or PWM. Most commercial controllers, if not all of the, use PWM. You have two choices, build your own controller that can send an analog signal to dim the units or get a driver that uses PWM for dimming. You can email Ray at Aquastyle and upgrade the drivers to the meanwells, but you will need more of them than the maxwells (drivers that come in those kits) and they are more expensive. I would recommend doing this anyways so you can get more LED choices besides just neutral white and royal blue that you can choose during checkout. On that note, I emailed Ray a few weeks ago and never got a response. From what I hear, he takes a while to respond, especially now since they are pretty busy. I ordered everything from LED Group Buy and got the LED colors they didn't offer from Aquastyles and received them in less than a week. For drivers, I decided to build my own that use PWM dimming, also building a DIY PWM controller. This is a little more involved but ended up costing about the same as I could have gotten two large meanwell drivers for, around $165. Figure out how many LEDs you want to run and I can help you find the right drivers. I am aiming for 108 on my 210, maybe a few more, depends on what I can fit and power with my current supplies. I test lit one of these 3w 4500K whites, they are BRIGHT!

Weird. I replied to the email that came from MAAST, the reply address was your greenmako one, or what I was assuming was yours so I thought you would get it. I'll PM it to you.

I'll try and take some pics of how I rigged it later. Little hard to explain.

Interested to see how this goes for you. I am planning on building an LED fixture for my 75 in the near future and just built a small (6bulb) light for my wife's 3gal pico. I used a kit from Rapid LED and it was super easy.
