Need someone that is good with wood to do some mods on my canopy. I am located in Cibolo. My new tank set up is too tall for my short self lol. Need some cuts to lift the whole front instead of just the top lid so I can reach easier into the tank for maintenance, feeding, ect. maybe someone could possibly swing by and take a look and let me know how much they would charge me. Thx

I do have a complete woodshop however due to relocating and not enough electric in the garage everthing is pack up still.
Is the front of the canopy part of the supporting 'box' or frame that holds the canopy together ? If so you probably have to remove the whole front piece and replace it with a board going from side corner to side corner to hold the thing together. The front can then be attached to the top of the canopy with a 'piano hinge' which is just a long hinge to support the weight of the front piece. With that in place you would lift up the front panel and top together then the front piece would fold into the top piece.

not the greatest pic, but you can see the lip pf the canopy which is what lifts up.

Nice tank. Yeah it looks like the front board is part of the box for support. You would have to put a board behind that and attach to the sides to keep it together. Otherwise there would be a possibility the sides would stretch and fall off the tank or worse into it. The main thing is to keep the sides tight to the tank you maybe could find a threaded rod that long to hold the sides together then just attach the front to the bottom of the top which lifts up with a hinge.
