I know it's a very poor picture.

The skin is a slightly textured iridescent green, the polyps are a light brownish color.

I've had it for a couple of years, too high in the tank and it grew very slow or not at all. Now that I've got it lower the polyps are all extended and you can't even see the skin.

I thought maybe some kind of milli, but the green skin... It looks like you could, if properly motivated, peel the green off.

have you looked at Alton's TOTM article. I think he has something similar to this. Look at the pics

Took me a second, but that's funny.

Allan, I usually go to live aquaria and look at their maricultured and wild frags to get an idea on names. Almost looks like an ora roscoe's

I'll check it out. There wasn't one in Alton's TOTM photoshoot.

With the older picture, it kind of looks like an ATL shades of fall. That is a nice looking piece you've got there Allan.

After looking through ORA corals, I still think it could be a chips or roscoe's

It does look a lot like the shades of fall... except for the fluted part where the polyps emerge from. On the SOF the flutes are pretty obvious. I think on mine, I'll take a look again today, the polyps emerge from nothing more than a pore looking hole. No flutes.

I'll take a gander at the ora site.

I like the orafarm.com for the official shots, but oracorals.com gives you a better idea of what the acros look like after they lived in different tanks after a while. To me, it's so hard to id corals after they've been in our tanks for years since they growth, color, overall look shifts to the tank's parameters. I've got a red planet frag from Christopher that barely resembles what I think a RP should look like.

We should compare our planets then. Mine isn't as fiery red as the one on orafarms, that's for sure.

I'm okay with calling it the falls name, but hesitant to apply the Ora name since I'm not sure if that's where it came from.

That site is handy, I was able to ID one of the other sps colonies in the tank... But I forgot what it was called already.

That's why I quit taking pics of new ORA frags. They never look the same after they've been in a regular joe's tank for a few months. My rp is more of a light pink and green. The polyps aren't as nearly as fiery red and the green isn't as intense.

So what happened to the coral in question? It seems to have browned out when compared to the pic when it was new.

After I moved it down a few months ago it came back to life. The browning was the polyps and partially an iPhone picture.

The PE is so good that I think it's flourishing. That old pic was taken by milly with her nikon dsomething.

I noticed today that the branches coming off on the low side are fluted like the changing falls coral in orafarms.
