14 gallon biocube

Hello I need some advice. Would love to know what other biocube owners have but will take anyone with experience advice. I would love to have three fish or four if possible. What can I have? I want fish that swim not hide. Please give me some advice. What can I do? I'm not ready to stock yet but want to be prepared when I do soon. And please respond if u can.

I'd do some sort of cardinal fish (top swimmer, usually out and about), clownfish, and maybe a goby (these are generally in the sand bed) such as a yellow clown goby or yasha hashe, twin spot gobies are my favorite but they're hard to find at times...

A couple of chromis would work, mine are always out, you are definetely limited to only a few fish in that small of a tank. Also a couple of firefish would be great for some color.

But I would definitely look for a few fish that have personality and a lot of color.
If you plan on clownfish I would recommend something unique over the 'nemo' brand.

I don't care for the chromis unless you have the room for a few of them, by themselves they can be rather bland.

The bengai cardinal really has a lot of color, striking contrasts of black and white with a glowing pinstripe. But... They just sit there. All. The. Time! Mine will chase the chromis around, but other than that I forget that it's in there.

A fire shrimp will stand out.

If I had a larger tank, or a friend with a larger tank, or even the eventual turning it in to one of the LFS or here on Maast, I'd get a very small hippo tang. Those buggers are cute and although a bit shy they tend to be out and about often enough. You could probably keep it about a year if you get it small enough.

Long enough to upgrade to a larger tank. :)
