I actually saw a friends tank where the coral grew down instead of up to get away from the light.

On ecotech's youtube video for their new led's I think they recommended to start the light output at 40% and work your way up, even if you're converting from halides.

Wow Alton, I've never even seen that! I've got friends that have run 400W halides and they never had a problem like that.
