I saw some guy post that a while back on RC. Crazy how well it works, but the power of the laser straight up terrifies me.

These lasers are not cheap. $300 on average and upwards of $1500. I did see one for fairly cheap on lazerer.com for around $150. I believe you want at least 1w. Keep in mind, these lasers will blind you faster than you can blink, so get some goggles for everyone in the room if you get one.

they are leagal because no fool has used it to blind anyone driving down a freeway or flying a plane yet. They should be treated like a loaded gun. But I do have to say the sizzle and pop of melting aptasia is SOOOOO satisfying more so than spreading the chemical fertalizer they sell in stores ;)> .

In the hospital joint commission regulates how we deal with lasers rather intensly. I would've never thought just anyone could pick one up. Also taught advance laser theory at our MOS producing school. The part about wearing googles for eveyone in the house, closing all curtains... seems like a lot of work for aptasia.

My friend was contemplating getting one. His wife was onboard. Once they figured that they had right at 1000 majano and these units most of them have a cycle time of a minute on and 2 minutes off. He figured he has maybe 2 hours a night he can mess with the tank after work. If he did nothing but zap majanos at 3 minutes per biological unit it would take 25 nights if all the ones died that he crisped and none of the others reproduced. On the bright side he said he would lose a lot of weight cuz he didn't figure in time to eat supper.
