phyto suddenly no longer growing

I've been growing phyto for several months without problems but for the last couple of weeks it's just not growing anymore. I haven't really changed anything! What's happening?

is it a temperature issue? i know my classroom is much cooler now with cooler weather and that has caused a slowdown in growth of my phyto and rotifers.
