my clowns are boring.....

they stay on the left side of my tank in the back corner.....very rarely do they come out from there. I don't have an anemone yet since my tank is only about 8 weeks old. This sucks..........before anyone asks, there are no other fish being aggressive or messing with them at all.

maybe they are making a nest back there, have you checked for eggs?

I haven't seen any Ace. They are still quite small so I don't think they would be laying eggs yet. They are mated and you can tell which is which, but again, still small. The bigger is only maybe 2 1/2 - 3 inches.

Be glad they are staying in their corner. I have a pair of ocellaris in th 215g and they consider a quarter of the tank their corner. Whenever they have eggs (which seems to be something close to always) they get very ornery with other fish or even coral. They are keeping a full quarter to themselves and nobody is allowed to enter. I think if clowns used the whole tank they could be really a big pain

Karin, your post explains why I don't have clowns anymore.

Mine owned the whole backside of the tank. I never saw them unless they were trying to bite me, or terrorizing the other fish in the tank.

So, like FSU, mine stayed hidden most of the time. And when I did see them, they were causing trouble.

My first pair of clowns stayed at the top corners of the tank and I never got them to eat. Eventually, I lost them for obvious reasons. I thought the power heads were keeping them out of the higher flow areas, but IDK. I really don't know what the issue with my first pair was. I was very cautious with the next pair I bought which ended up being an established pair from a fellow reefers tank. These guys eat, swim around the whole tank, and of course try to eat me every time I put my hand in the water. They are amazing, characteristic little fish, except when they bite me, that gets old quick.

lol, thats too funny rrasco. My pair eats well, well, as good as they can with the pigs I have in my tank. They were actually the first fish in the tank....the 2 clowns and the 2 bangaiis were introduced at the same time and both pairs have been doing well.
