Need for concern? Noted this hole about a week ago. Not sure what to make of it. Kind of looks like it's trying to split, but scollies don't do this do they? Looks like a second mouth.

No idea - but I have to say, that sure is a beautiful happy looking scoly! Sure hope it's splitting!

I'll trade you, yours looks very happy. Mine didn't like being moved.

The hole is just north of the mouth. For a minute it looked like its mouth was getting bigger.
Here is a close up... iPhone style...

Thanks L and K, but with that hole I'm thinking he's not too happy.

I would just monitor it and see if it gets bigger. They are fragged by cutting them in half so I wouldn't be too worried. I'm sure it will regrow/recover.

Looks like a small puncture wound. No rocks near it that fell? Remind me what fish you have in there. Just a wild guess, but since its at the tentacles area I wonder if a fish stole food from it and took a piece of scoly with it. As healthy as it, I'm sure it will heal in no time flat.

Hippo, two percs, blenny of some kind, and a melanuranus wrass.
Nothing fell on it that I'm aware of. Since my erstwhile daughter doesn't really work on her tank I doubt that anything fell on it that was removed without me knowing about it.
Maybe one of the fish tool a bite. Would have been at night though. My scoly only eats at night.
