Show me what you are using on your 40g breeder. 36" is so hard!

I currently have electic lighting (MH, LED, T5 - whatever I had laying around or donated to me) on my breeder and I don't think anything is real happy about it.

Looking for a low cost solution that will support BTA's and LPS corals.

I still think 2 x 150w clip-on lamps would work. Or see if Jack can make you an acrylic rack and mount your existing lights on that.

Nothing in my tank is liking the MH right now and with 2 MH's I would definately have to worry about heat and more evaporations. The BTA's are hiding under rocks or have moved over to where the t5 lighting is.

I'm leaning towards 2 T5 fixture (already have, white/blue bulbs), along with 2 panorama pros. Thinking of going with the 12k version of those and also getting the reflectors. The tank is pretty shallow so corals would be 10-20 inches from the lighting.

I went back and forth on t5 or the LEDs. Decided on the panorama pro 12k for the shimmer effect. Got a great blk friday deal on them too. Now to build something to mount them to.

Did you go with just the 12K strips or the 12K/445nm? Maybe Jack could come up with something?

The prob with the reg LED fixtures is that they don't cover 36" of the tank.

I went with the 12k strips so that I would have as much growth light as possible. Haven't decided if I'm going acrylic or wood. I'm afraid that over time the acrylic will warp.

I switched back over to the 36" t5 light w/the 12k/445 panorama that I already have and everything is already looking better.

Not yet, will take pics when everything is up and running and corals have bounced back. Not much to look at right now.

I was playing on line and was wondering if something like this might work. I could mount the lights on the bottom side of this?
