Paul is due to give birth to the seahorse fry Sunday. Which also happens to be fossil day.
The seahorse tank is set up to circulate into the sump and waterflow is provided via closed loop. Obviously if I miss the birth the fry will go down the drain. :(
Can I just disconnect the return pump and plop a little powerhead into the main tank to sustain water movement while protecting the fry from going down the drain?
(if there is fry of course. if there isn't then I am having aboatload of rotifers and phyto in the works for no good reason at all)

maybe just an airstone since I also don't want them pulverized in a powerhead...

You don't have fish that might eat the fry? Like the ones in your avatar..

The seahorse tank is seahorse only. Most sources indicate that seahorses would not eat their own fry

No!
Not yet. Tomorrow. When pregnancy is only 14 days long it really doesn't leave all that much time for preparation. Would be hilarious if it turns out he's not pregnant at all...
