Could use some info plz as it has been several years since I cycled a tank and can't remember a few things.

1. I am at 2 weeks of my tank cycle and all lvls are good. When does the spike in lvls come?
Amm = 0
PH = 8.3
Nitrite = 0
Nitrate = 10

2. I am getting a small algae bloom that is more brownish. Do I have my lights on too long?

Whites = 10am-6pm
actinics = 9am-7pm
LED moonlights on rest of hours other 2 are off

3. Anyone good at aqua-scaping Cibolo area?

TIA
Rick

P.S. I'll get a few pics up once I find my camera cord....still looking lol

i would wait another 2-3 weeks. the cycle is fast, so unless your testing couple times a day you might miss it. what is your filtration system consist of? also as you add fish into the system it will cycle again(mini cycle) and adjust itself. as for yor lights it sounds fine, if you have a sump you can toss some damsels in i would go that route, that way you can pull em out easily, unless you want damsels in your display.

Hey, ty for the response. I am using a sump with an Octopus skimmer, 120lbs live sand and about 140-150 pounds of live rock, 40 or so which is in the sump.

The diatom algae will go away soon. You could add some a cleanup crew to start taking care of the mess.

already added 4 pepps, 6 emerald crabs, 50 nass snails, and 80 blue legs! I had some Aiptasia pop up on my live rock so I threw the pepps in there. They already took care of it me thinks! I don't see it anymore! It was only one that I could see, but 1 is too much IMO!

Good deal. My dwarf ceriths absolutely decimated my diatom algae and my lawnmower blenny removed all traces of bryopsis. He actually has to be fed now, lol.
