Some times the hobby itself makes it so fun and just maybe staring ur tank for a moment makes u laugh and makes ur day......how about looking at a mystery wrasse and a fox that i use to hve paring up and hanging all over the tank together not leaving each other even for a minute atleast thats what i notice ....chasing each other hanging out even tearing the algae sheets together and munch on em at same time....i think this was so much fun watching.....I always wanted to make a videos and document it but was too lazy....but wanted to start a thread and let u all know and u guys might hve smething to share aswell....

right now, the most amusing thing about my tank is what happens at night. when you look at the tank after all the lights are out (except the moonlights), it looks like a bunch of little fake clownfish scattered in the anemones - all flat and still. really scares you the first time you see it because it looks like they are dead and being eaten by the anemones :)

Oh several things:
Our long nosed butterfly fish has some amusing behaviors. He has a very distinctive and unusual pattern of swimming where he can frequntly be witnessed looping completely upside down to check under an overhang, looks so silly. But his best trick is when he figures out that I amfeeding his favorite treat (those orange fish eggs) and he gets so excited that he begs for them at the surface of the water, with his little beak bobbing up out of the water. I should definitely try yo capture this on video, so thanks for that idea, Lucky.
When our biggest fish, the blue hippo, is the biggest chicken and tries to hide himself in a spot where he used to fit but no longer does. He is in plain view but thinks he's invisible!
When the pufferfish demands to be fed by squirting water at the feeder person.
We get SO MUCH enjoyment from watching our silly fish!! I have a hard time relating to the hobbyists who are such coral lovers that they decide to go with zero or one fish in a tank that could handle several.

what makes me laugh is when I used to have a large tank I had a damsel and a pseudo and they would chase each other out of caves all day. They acted like they hated each other but when the lights go out they would share the same cave and sleep right next to each other.

I totally agree that fish add so much entertainment to a tank.
My melanurus tries to dominate the sapphire damsel by flashing colors and swimming up really fast, like she is going to attack. The sapphire does an NFL juke move and keeps on ignoring her.

I enjoy Lots of Activity in my Tanks, i honestly Spend a Great Portion of My Time Staring into the Water.
Usually Watching Tangs Chase after One Another while Triggers Make there Laps around the Tank Wall
Feeding Time is the Best, 2 Zebra Eels Intertwined Fighting Blindly over Food floating around while a 2ft Shark Bull Dozes them Down !
Tangs goin Ape Crazy on a Mag Float Hoalding Nori Down
but what Calms all of that Down is Feeding CORAL, nothing like seeing Sweeper Tentacles Reaching out for Food :blushing:

right now what amuses me most is how excited my seahorse girls are about their new boyfriend. Each tries to claim him and they both have such pretty colors.
Usually when you introduce a new fish it's so stressful and you worry how they'll get along.
The seahorse girls seem to just love their new addition. :)

Lucky, mine are Reidis and I hope they do breed but Reidis have tiny fry and are very difficult to raise. In fact no Continental US supplier has successfully been breeding them lately. Even Seahorsesource imports their Reidi from Asia. GC Reef attempted Reidi and gave up on them as well.
So if they do breed and I manage to raise even just one to adulthood it will be a miracle! But I'll try if they try lol
If you are interested in breeding seahorses Erectus appear to be super easy with their larger fry

I always snicker looking at my goof ball Khol tang kicking in the afterburners forward and backwards across the tank. I did not know a fish could go so fast in reverse
