So I got my Apex calibrated and my ph is at 7.9 throughout the day. I also read that some people have ran an air hose to the intake on the skimmer from an outside source or attic. They recomended using carbon to take out any contaminants that it might suck in. Has anyone tried this?

Never tried any of them. I use baked baking soda to raise the ph. Or, you can mix up some kalk in about 2 cups of water and then add the slurry to your sump. Either of them repeated over a few days has worked for me.

I think first step should be to find out why your pH is low.
If it's low because your alkalinity is low then yes, raising it with buffers/baking soda etc. will help.
If your alkalinity is spot on but your pH is low because of CO2 then you can try a few things (and I have tried them all lol):
* run a hose from your skimmers air intake outside (make the hole in the window screen very tiny and fill the gap in the window with foam -otherwise significant others may frown on wasting a/c and electricity like that). This works so so and I don't use carbon or anything.
* get a CO2 scrubber. This works very well but you may go broke buying the scrubber media
* drip with kalkwasser when your pH drops below your threshold. (figure out what your threshold is -especially if you use stuff like a calcium reactor you may be fine with a pH of 7.8 - do an online search on low pH - Randy Holmes Farley has a great article on this
First things first though: check your alkalinity first and adjust accordingly. Don't just dump stuff in there without testing... ;)

I tested alk earlier. It was 6.7 dkh so it was low. I buffered it some. I'm going to give it a shot and see how the ph is affected. Everything is doing great so I'm not too worried just thought I would ask first.

Running a hose from the skimmer to the outside does help... Water needs to be well areated aswell...run a test u turn ur skimmer off and ur ph will fall
