On Sunday I noticed part of my center brace came loose from the front side of my 110 tall tank. Well I took out about 30 gallans of water and I had Sheila (kitkat72) run to Lowes for some clamps to see if we could fix it. I cleaned off all the old silicone and repositioned the center brace to where it needed to be. I clamped both sides of the tank around the brace to hold and put pressure it. Then I siliconed (aquarium grade) the heck out of it and let it set up and dry for the recommended 24hours. It seems to be holding now that I have all my water back in and it's up and running. My question is, is this a temporary patch that needs a more permannet fix. Or do you think this will hold till we decide to upgrade the tank, which will be in a year a two.

Yep, we'll see how it goes for now. Might be in the market for a new 110 in a few weeks to remedy the situation. Our next tank will be a brick...

keep a barrel of saltwater ready and a tub. if it does burst it will go fast. you'll be throwing rock and livestock in the tub and be glad you got the fresh saltwater ready. I would say my 125 emptied in less than 10 minutes.
Also a wet vac helps limit damage to the floors and drywall.
If it was me the 110 would be out the door now.
You don't have to have a brick to have a tank that doesn't burst. I mean how often do we hear of tank glass cracking? It's always the silicone seams...

Well the brace came loose again. Have clamps on the tank to hold it together for now. Buckets and Shop Vac are on the ready... Already posted in buy section for new/used tank.
