Best way to replace a clown

Had our first loss this weekend as one of our clowns (False Perc) decided to seek adventure outside the confines of the tank this weekend while we were in Port A. They were both about 1.5 inches so I dont know that either had made the switch yet. I am wondering the best way to go about adding a second to the tank?

1) Buy one smaller than the one we have now and hope for the best?
2) Wait a while for this one to grow some at which point I would guess it will make the switch and then search out some that are smaller to add a bit down the road?

I'd say:

1) find out what might have spooked him. The only time my clowns ever jumped was when I had a tang that frightened them. And I've had them now for at least 7 years. Clowns are not normally very jumpy

2) remove the fish that harasses the clowns or at least make a mesh top to keep them safe

3) buy really small tank bred clown to add

IfI had to guess it would have to either be a fluke or the other clown nipping. All we have in the tank (90g) the two clowns, a purple firefish, YWG/Pistol Shrimp, emerald crab, and a few hermits/snails. I have a trip to the store planned for tomorrow to pick up some screen to cover the back of the tank/hood.
