I had a thread where we discussed the use of bio pellets with the zeovit supplement products. I have since been using the bio pellets for about a 5 weeks now. I have a large tank to the dosage was between 1500ml and 1800ml BP. I did however do some research and I found that most people put the whole amout of required pellets into a reactor and away they went. Upon doing so they caused a bacteria bloom within the tank. I on the other hand did the oposite and started with only 500ml of pellets for 3 weeks then added the rest of the 1000ml to make my 1500ml total with no problems. I did notice that I had a hair algae outbreak in my frag tank but I realized that some people would get hair algae when the pellets were low. I manually removed as much as possible and then did a 40 gallon water change with Red Sea Coral Pro salt. I have not noticed any algae coming back at all. Not just hair algae but any algae at all. I do still have a few aptasia's though.
The same night I added the 1000ml of pellets I also started dosing the zeo products. I am currently using Zeobak, Zeofood7, B-balance, K-balance, Coral Snow, Coralvitalizer, Zeostart3, and Zeospur2. I have tested for nitrates and nitrites, and phosphates. All read 0 on strips but I want to get an actual meter to see exactly where its at. By dosing the Zeovit all I can say is WOW!!!
I have noticed that not only the polyps extend more, the colors get brighter but also the actual skin of the corals is puffing up as well.

The first photo is of my German Blue Digi, If you look at the tips of it you can see the swollen skin of the coral as it is expanded.

The second photo is of a Orange Cap. Before zeo I had just the plain old polyps that looked similar to what I would call flower petals I guess but in the photo you can see the extreme extension.

The third is of a Yellow monti with Purple caps. the polyps on this piece prior to zeo were no where near the purple they are now. the were more like a lavendar before zeo

The fourth is of what I was told is a Tri-color Acro. Its blue color tips were always very lightly colored and only blue on the tips. Since zeo the entire thing is blue and its bright bright bright.

The fifth is of my green cap with blue polyps. If you look close enough you can see the polyp extension.

Impressive! You make me want to go out and buy more of the Zeo stuff. If it weren't so expensive, I'd already be dosing. I don't think it would be bad for a nano tank but for a large tank, it adds up really fast. I don't know though, seeing these results really have me considering it! Thanks for posting your results so far. I hope you continue to post as I'd love to see more results!

thank you Ramsey, I plan to take photos every week or two to see the progress. what I really want to do is set up a camera to do a photo every week and then compile it all into a stop motion of a tank aging 1 year old but with zeovit. Think it would be cool.

Which one of the procedures do you think has helped the most? The bio-pellet reactor or dosing the zeo-vit?

Also, sorry if I posted this on the wrong thread for you. If you want me to move it to the other one I will so this one will stay just for your results.

I love all the zeo foods, phols extra is great, and coral vitalizer. have you notice how the polyps shoot out when you add the coral snow. also you can mix your zeo coral food in a cup of water and coral snow, add zeo food let sit five min and the add to tank

also are you running carbon and a phosphate remover. I'm using Kent marine sea gel, in a reactor.

Firewater, I made this thread basically just for results and discussion so its fine. I think the pellets have really helped with the removal of phosphates and nitrates but the zeo products have only intensified the results. The zeobak is what I attribute the fast reaction of the pellets to. The rest has just been amazing. As for GFO and carbon go, I only run carbon because the phosphate removal by gfo would alter the results of the pellets.

Your corals look great, glad this is working for you. I think the removal of phosphates and nitrates is huge, it's worked wonders in my tank as well (different products).

Too bad there's no before pictures....or is there?
