drip acclimation. get an adjustable t and some airline tubing, put the new shrimp in a small container with some of the bag water and start your siphon. adjust so there are about a drip every 10 seconds or so. when the small container is full pour out half the water and refill again with drips. if you are being extra cautious do it one more time, and take the entire cup and submerge it in the tank, allowing the shrimp to climb out into his new home

Into his new phone? Does the shrimp use AT&T or Sprint. :)

Seriously though, good advise. Invertebrates can be more sensitive to salinity and other water changes, so slow acclimation is best.

Just buy a piece of coral from MR.COB and he will give you a free one...LOL, I did and I use it to this day. I am sure I would have bought one by now but it was a cool unexpected perk and still pays off.... yes slow drip them, I learned the hard way when I just dropped a shrimp in the first time.

I just use a 5 gallon bucket and let it drip very very slowly where you almost think it isnt dripping and run a errand or go out to eat. the longer the better. I use this method with just about everything now and have nothing but good results.

Thanks. Who is mr.cob? I never acclimate them like that and have lost three. I will do it that way from now on. Thanks

Mr.cobs corals, a sponsor on here. I was just saying that's how I got my t valve, but they are only a couple of bucks, if that at any local shop. Before that I Would just leave the bags in the sump for awhile.... With poor results.

you can also just tie your airline in a knot, this has always worked for me

I typically try to get about 3-4 drips per second, let it drip for about 30 minutes, then dump half of the water and let it drip another 30 minutes. So a little over an hour for the whole process. Make sure you still float the bag to adjust it to the temperature of your tank. If you wanted to get fancy, you could get one of these:
