I am looking into getting some new lighting for my 180 gal brick. I currently have 3 Aqua Medic MH pendants (11" wide) (have had them for awhile) with 250W 20K bulbs. Any suggestions as to something reasonable out there to check into?

Space-wise: I have about 12" space to work with from canopy top to water level.

Never been too good with lighting - so some suggestions would help me to look into different options. Mucho thanks

Hey Sherri!

So, what don't you like about your current setup? What you have is pretty much what I would go with - 3 x 250w 20Ks.

ok Sherri you just opened up a big can of worms. lol!! ok first off are you looking to get away from MH? also according to Mr Valentine I think going to 150w or 175w with a certain reflector has given him better par results than his 400w(hope he chimes in to correct me), which would equal a lil savings in power consumption. then there is the new LED fixtures which are getting better almost every month.

LOL - I am having issues with the pendants themselves...the ceramic pieces where you slide in the double ended bulbs is broken on one for sure...the 2nd one caused a BRAND NEW bulb to crack trying to get it in - it is now not working...not looking to get away from MH at all...I do like the 250W 20K....soooo...replacement parts could be available to fix them?
