I am currently running a bio pellet system but have thought of switching to a full blown zeovit system. After a little ready I was wondering what would happen if I continued to use the bio pellets but dosed the zeovit additives? anyone have any ideas?

I've used BioPellets and used some Zeovit products (Sponge Power, ZeoBac, ZeoZym and the Coral Snow)
Nothing bad happened if that's the question. So hard to tell with the Zeo stuff if it really works or things are just honkey dorey either way.
I am not buying it anymore but since I have it I still use it when I remember

I think it depends on what Zeovit products you're wanting to use. I'm using Zeozym, Coral Snow and Zeobak to get rid of cyano. I've been running BP's for some time now. I can say that the Zeo products I'm using make the water extremely clear. I think I see slight improvement in my cyano problem. It's only been about two weeks since I started using the Zeo stuff. The other side effect I've seen so far so improved polyp extension in SPS and what seems to be much faster growth. I can't attribute it all to Zeo since I also started doing 5G twice a week water changes.
I'm seriously considering using more Zeo additives. You should be able to find a Zeo dosing guide online (if not, let me know). It will explain most of the additives so you can make a more informed decision. A lot of their products that aren't about bacteria production and carbon dosing are for coral feeding and amino acids. Mostly for increased coloration and more growth.

Thanks guys, I think I will stay with the bio pellets and dose the zeovit additives. Full line up.

I liked the ZeoZym. Isn't Zeostart and ZeoBac very similar?

From reading the different instructions it states its best to use zeobak, zeofood7, and zeostart together. IMHO its mainly to get a good bacteria strand going in your pellets with the zeobak and then diversify with the zeostart and then feed them with zeofood7. I could be wrong but that's the layman terms I understood.

Sounds like a lot of Zeo Dollars? Please keep us updated to see if it was worth it? At this time I just dose Micro Bacter 7 when I feel like it.

I am currently getting a serious green hair algae outbreak in my frag tank, could this be part of the pellet cycle? or just not enough flow in the frag tank? any ideas?

Sounds more like N and P's. Have you checked them? The only side effect of running pellets that I've heard of is cloudy water due to bacteria bloom. How long have you used the BP's? Also, are you using the recommended amount?

ok, going to close the valves to the frag tank and manually remove the algae from the frag tank, overflows, and the refugium.
