Thanks for looking. Ultra hammers have been extremely hard for me to get lately and as some of you know we have been trying to get rare ones in for over 6 months now. Don't sleep on them because I'm not sure when we will be able to get them in again.

Thanks, Mike and Karin. We have been waiting a long time to get some ultra euphyllia.
The Lepastrea or Leptastreas (having trouble finding the correct spelling) are really sweet and since we bought colonies we were able to frag them up to make them affordable....at $20 a frag you can't go wrong. The orange ones are ultra sweet but the greens ones make a nice contrast next to the orange. They look pretty sweet next to one another. I'm going to try some fusion propagating with the two and see if I can get a hybrid from them.

Does that torch look like the one Ace had in his tank? Thats the one I fell in love with...
Mr Cob
Sat, 11th Jun 2011, 02:41 PM
under actinics it looks very similar...I don't recall seeing his under daylight. It's a nice rare piece with gold tentacles. Definitely not easy to find and took me almost 6 months to get one.
Mr Cob
Sat, 11th Jun 2011, 03:04 PM
Jarob if you are on the wall about it then I would say don't get it. Nothing worse than expecting something and it not be what you are expecting, plus this piece is too sweet to be the middle child. If you like it from the pics you see and info I have given you then it's a fabulous piece but if you are trying to match one to Ace's then I would pass.

fwiw, that is exactly what mine looked like when i bought it. it was only after a few months under the solar tubes that it developed the more vivid colors.

thx for posting Ace.
Just in the few days I have had it I have already noticed a little more intensity of color on the tentacles. Sooooooooooo tempted to keep it all to myself :)
I've become a bit addicted to Euphyllias this year. My 55g is slowly turning Euphyllian and I been removing all the zoas and selling them off. The clowns hop from one to the next, it's so funny.

you can tell in comparing the pics to this one that I just took that it's starting to color up more:

The worm brain is pretty cool. Not everyday you find a pink and green one. It can chow down too.

Is that a branching hammer or a wall hammer? The super ultra. Is it purple with gold/orange tips?
Mr Cob
Sun, 12th Jun 2011, 11:35 PM
the tentacles are pale, perhaps a light purple....or light skin tone....hard to tell....the tips are gold though.
I think it's Euphyllia ancora (wall)

kind of surprising we are still sitting on some of these....most are barely even at 50% markup, just for the clubs we sponsor. They will be more once they go through a photoshoot and hit the site.
