When it comes to reef keeping, you sometimes hear the phrase Go Big or Go Home! but rarely do you see it implemented in such a dramatic way as when you walk into the Romo home and are greeted by a 561 gallon FOWLR. This month we would like to introduce you to this impressive set up by z28pwr.

This thread is devoted to Jose, so come and sit for a while and ask him questions about this setup. If this isn't enough for you, we will also be highlighting video of his tank at our 2nd Quarter TOTM Social.
Read more about this setup in the attached article. And come back again to see more pics!

I'd really like to thank Jose and Mizeny for opening up their home to us so we could showcase this impressive tank.
The cowfish was my favorite. He would follow you around the tank, and seemed as interested in us as we were him.
Everyone, please note the size of the spines on the naso tang on page 4. Those things could really do some damage.

Meh, that's a nano!
Congrats ya'll, I think that's the biggest tank I've seen in person. The cowfish is cool, he's huge.

Every time I get to go over to the Z28 house I have to stare for a while to take all the tank in. I always laugh at how the fish have this huge tank and they all congregate by one corner when you walk by.
The X-mas wrasse? Is that still Nick? If it is then he looks happy and I am glad he went to such an awesome tank.

Thanks everyone and a special thanks to the TOTM committee for volunteering their time. Throughout the years we’ve met some wonderful people on MAAST that have helped bring this tank together since the very beginning. It took a while to get the system fully up and running but I think it turned out well.
John, that is Nick although we refer to him as FireWater ;)

Congrats Jose and Mizeny! It's certainly the biggest tank that I've ever encountered outside a public aquarium.
Love the fish photos, Cory! Great job yet again TOTM guys. Jose, I don't believe I've ever seen a lemonpeel angel in such a beautiful shade of orangey yellow. Love to see fish like yours, all looking fat and happy!

I have spent more time at the z28 house than any other MAAST members - and my wife knows not to expect me back for awhile. Jose and Mizeny are very good peps, and there tanks are awesome (I know the other tank is WIP, but it will be awesome).
I was especially impressed with Jose's set up, in that he doesn't need to do water changes...water changes on a tank this size would suck.
Ok Jose, you MASTerd the FOWLR, now find a nice home for the "not so reef safe fish" and turn it into the largest reef tank in Southern Texas...or beyond!
JK, but it would be sic! Nice job and congrats man.

Thanks Allan, but don't hold your breath on converting it to a reef tank that would be too much work ;) .

Thanks Terry, but I heard that somebody was going to setup a 1,000+ gallon display tank so I will have to leave it to them to take the trophy but you never know..
The TOTM committee took some videos but I'm not sure where they are at.
