You get premium price on their stock... typically the lowest price offered while you look through their stuff.

When you buy in bulk you get a better price, but with the group buy you get the discounted price even without buying in quantity.

For example, the awesome Oceans Wonder glue (my favorite) is usually $6.99 a bottle. Each group buy participant gets the lowest price even if they only buy one item, so each bottle would be $6.30, a 10% savings.

The savings really matter if you need to stock up on more expensive items like high quality carbon or two part solutions.

If you were to get one of each of these items, your bill would drop from $88.97 to $75.90. That savings will cover a good part of the shipping.

You have to have an account with BulkReefSupply.com. Even if you order on your own, you have to set one up, so that's not a big deal.
Once we have enough participants, the group buy begins on a Tuesday and runs through the week. Starting that designated Tuesday, you can log in to place your order and make payment. As soon as you place your order, it will be shipped--you don't have to wait for the other group buy participants to place their orders. Your stuff will be sent directly to your address. So, no sending your money to someone else to pool funds for quantity discounts, and no driving across town to pick up your stuff from someone else's adress.

Couldn't be easier. :)

I was just adding someone to the list, and it occurred to me that today is a holiday for most people! I tried calling BRS to add another name and the office was closed... I sent an email asking if their would be any delay. I'll keep you all posted.

BRS is also running a Memorial Day sale this week. It looks as if some of the items are on sale at the lowest discounted price, and they are not allowing stacked discounts for group buy participants.

I'm sorry about the confusion.

I'm not sure if this is the same for all items... an email from Mr Westmark at BRS earlier this week said that we will "probably just get even better deals than usual with the memorial day sale going on at the same time." I will try to get that statement clarified, but Westmark is away at the moment, and his fill-in may not know all of the details.



All group buy participants will still qualify for Preferred Pricing in the future.


At the end of the Group Buy each participant's account will be changed to Preferred Customer. BRS Preferred Customer pricing is generally between our retail and group buy prices. This permanent upgrade is our way of saying thanks for getting your reef supplies with us!

My order came in Monday, and I can guarantee you that I was just as excited. Mag supplement, aqualifters, kalk, test reagent (Hanna) and bulkheads. It was kinda like Christmas, only I got JUST what I wanted.
