I have a 46 gallon bow front. Over a year old now. I have about two maybe three inch sand bed about 40 pounds of live rock. Snails, long tentacle anenome a pair of clowns. I want some ideas on what fish to stock. I want color and moving fish. What would you'll suggest? I would appreciate any ideas.

Do you plan on having shrimp? If not, a hawkfish would be cool. I have a Flame Hawk and love it. They have color and have a cool personality. Another fish you may want to look into is a blenny of some sort. Some have color but other's aren't very colorful. What they lack in color they make up for in personality. Finally, if you fancy color over personality, check out Anthias or a Wrasse. Dottybacks are colorful too but may be aggressive.

Maybe I am lucky but my flame hawk has never messed with my shrimp(2 cleaner/1 camel)...... But ya they are fun to watch but some time knock over corals... And I would second the wrasse, love they way he slivers through the rocks looking for pests to eat...

I've had good luck as well. I've kept him with a cleaner and two Harlequins. However, when I added some peppermints he eat or picked at the smaller ones.

Love the Midas blenny. Another thing is a purple reef lobster gonna kill fish? Which is the most peaceful dwarf angel cuz I like them also. I wanted shrimp so I'm worried about a hawk.

Although not bright a starry blenny has a lot of character. Always perched on a rock or coral watching you and waiting for food.

Mine will nibble food right out of the hand.

+1 on wrasses, beautiful and colorful and active... but only if you limit yourself to one or two, get the smaller varieties (like a fairy wrasse) and not the great big ones AND IF YOU HAVE A COVER ON YOUR TANK because wrasses are notorious for jumping... all of them!

This may be a silly suggestion (won't work if you plan to stock any legit big old predators), but have you considered a yellow stripe clingfish/goby? I have absolutely fallen in love with mine because even though he's dinky he's ALWAYS out and about visiting with me. You could also potentially consider a 'reef safe' dwarf angel, just be careful about it! Also, nthing the blenny/goby sand sifter idea, those little dudes can really be full of gumption. Even though they might look plain-ish, the yellow watchmen do really pop against sand. In addition, bar gobies in my experience really tend to be 'out there' in the tank if there's nothing aggressive, and they are quite interesting to look at. I'd also suggest anthias if you don't like the suggestions thus far...if you're careful in choosing, you can avoid the issues associated with other groups of fish and still get a very colorful little tank guy!
