Never would have even thought this possible. My husband and I have been several conventions and seminars with Eric when My husband was on the Board of Directors for MASNA. Steve even helped Eric with a couple of Bangaii Cardinal presentations.

Very strange... I can tell you after meeting him a coulple of times. he is a very smart guy and on the top of his game but very aloof. almost acted like he had no time to talk to you...I have seen him Flat out ignore several people that just wanted to talk to him. Could be another one of their stunts for MACNA but I believe this one

Holy cow. I had no idea you could get arrested (and kept in custody!) for having a quick swim in somebody else's pool. I am totally going to stop that then. lol
It's kinda of funny and definitely weird but I'm not sure that it warrants all of the uproar.
I mean if you saw somebody in your pool would you call the cops or just yell out the back: Hey, get the bleep outta my pool!

Really. I mean, best I can tell, this is what happened: Busted swimming in a neighbor's pool (who hasn't done THAT at some time in their lives). Police arrive, so he takes off running. Hides in a house (or garage, shed, etc?) that isn't his: Criminal mischief (going into someone's backyard, swimming in their pool, 2 counts), criminal trespass (trespassing with intent to commit a crime - the crime being swimming in a pool), evading arrest (running), resisting arrest (when they told him that they were going to arrest him, he probably did something, like "seriously? you are going to arrest me for swimming in a neighbor's pool?"), burglary of a habitation (entering a house/garage/shed that wasn't his), and failure to provide identification (he was in his BATHING suit).
Typical of a deal that was blown way out of proportion, probably. He ticked some police officers off, and they threw the book at him.

Not so fast... There's more to this story than the way it's being reported. This is not some 14 year old neighbor kid caught swimming in the pool. He's a grown man, and lives in a neighboring city. First, according to the news reports he's charged with Burglary of Habitation. Nothing in the news stories accounts for that charge. That is entering a residence with the intent to commit theft or any felony. The pool, pool house, fenced area, garden shed, etc... are not the residence. Swimming in the pool or entering the fenced area would be Criminal Trespass. Hiding in a neighboring residence would also be Criminal Trespass. The Criminal Mischief charges may have something to do with how he entered the residence.
The Burglary and Criminal Mischief charges are not the decisions of the police. They require the property owners.
And if you are lawfully detained by the police and refuse to identify yourself, or provide false information about your identity, you almost certainly go to jail.

I think he may need to borrow Jack's hat the next time the planets are in alignment, or if there is a full moon, or...... screw it, just send the man the hat, he needs it all the time!

OK, so say, for instance, he went into a house and snagged a pair of pants and a shirt? And THEN refused to say who he was, claiming "I live here".
I mean, it's just a wild guess here... But I could see this. Anyway, just a supposition! I'm sure we'll get the real story.

I am okay with the swim part. :) Hey even I have had some after hours fun at the city pool when I was younger and I've managed to stay pretty much crime free since then.
I wouldn't be okay with theft or vandalism though. So if the burglary charge indicates something like that then that definitely wouldn't be acceptable.

The problem about getting caught while swimming in someone else's pool is when you try to hide, your wet footprints tend to give away your position. :)

At, what, 45 years old you need to get that out of your system. If I ever caught some homeless looking guy(sorry Eric but you have a bad mugshot) swimming in my pool at night, I would call the cops as well and make sure they didnt leave. They did throw the book at him though.

If it were some teenagers I would just tell them to get the hell out of my pool. A grown man is another story. It's creepy.
