Just came home from my son's soccer game and noticed my tank had cloudy water. I knew right away what it was and once I checked my Koralia powerhead there was my GBTA stuck on the outside of the powerhead. I shut down the powerhead, pulled the anemone off and turned everything back on. I have the anemone in quarantine and am wondering if there is anything else I can do. I guess my questions are...

1: Is there anything I can do to help clear up the water or is it just a waiting game to let the filter clear it up?

2: Are my corals going to be okay?

3: Is the GBTA toast?

As of right now, everything looks to be fine. My corals seem okay and the fish seem to be just fine. The GBTA seems pretty tore up, and just don't know whether to toss him or not. He's in the same tank, just away from current and whatnot in a corner. I guess I'm just wondering if there is anything I can do? Thanks...

I am sure everyone is going to say a water change..

BTW my GBTA got completely ripped apart in my powerhead and everything made it through fine... after 2 water changes.

+1....

Immediatley.

Not sure about the anemone, maybe some pics perhaps, otherwise I personally wouldn't put it back in as it can continue to pollute and cloud the water.

Hope for a quick recovery for your corals and fish...

Carbon and water changes. Anenome is 50 50.

another vote for carbon and water changes...I agree the anem is 50/50

I was on the positive side of the 50/50 about 6 months ago. My RBTA got caught in my k3 and all of the tentacles were shredded from it. Seriously. I was able to pull it from the k3 and I placed it between a couple of rocks and left my Powerheads off for a couple of days. I also added black pantyhose on all of the pumps before turning them back on.

Well....several months later all the tentacles started growing back and here she is now (fully healed):

So, I would say as long as the foot is not mangled she should pull through.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the awesome advice... Things are just fine... I did a 20% WC and looks like all is well... I must have caught it right as it started, thank God... Needless to say the anemone did get a little chewed up and I decided that I didn't want to take the chance and went ahead and tossed it. If I thought that it had a chance I would've kept it but it was in pretty bad shape... Looks like I'm going to have to grab me some pantyhose and hope the wife doesn't give me a weird look as I purchase them. :D

haha, lol, my wife looked at me funny the first time I asked her several years ago...this time....she acted before I even asked. As soon as she saw the anem in the koralia she was headed to the bedroom and quickly handed me a pair while shaking her head. lol
