Ok need some opinions or experiences.

My efforts were to mow down some hair algae and bryopsis that has been thriving in my reef water.

Tried Black Mollys = Current too strong they end up in Overflow Box
Different Tangs = Spoiled by Krill (tried starving them)
Molly Miller = Same as above

So I purchased a California Blue Spot Sea Hare munched very well on ALL Hair Algae then MIA after a few weeks
Then picked up an Abalone on FRIDAY ! As of yesterday he is now MIA ! Only 3 days

Could my Wrasse be Taking them out 1 by 1 ?

Inhabitants of 125 REEF :

Kole Tang
Fox Face
Flame Angel
Big Eye Squirrel
Yellow Tailed Damsel
Bangai Cardinal
Yellow Corris Wrasse
Melanurus Wrasse
Green brittle star,and some snails

Oh and an Army of Bryopsis !

Any helpful hints would be Great, as I am near taking down my whole reef and starting over...

None of those seem likely. What are you parameters like. Are your powerheads covered?

Both of those critters need a nice slow thorough acclimation or they won't make it...another possible problem. Your wrasses seem unlikely suspects to me.

It was Professor Plum. He did it in the library with the candlestick.

I don't see a likely culprit in your fish list. Agree with Kristy's opinion.

But, I do have experience with this part. Nothing is as frustrating as watching a nice, thriving reef tank being overrun by the green monster. It's like Jordy Verrill in Creepshow.

Personally, I went the way of starting over and haven't been happier. I lost most of my corals, but that can be avoided with careful planning.

ok from recent experience with both, here what I just went through. I let my bio pellet reactor get a lil clogged and obstruct the tumbling(one month of this) because I was still feeding heavy and no other nitrate absorption I had a bad out break in hair algae and bryopsis. first you need to fix the source of nitrates, which for was reduce feeding and cleaning my reactor. then I used a combo of algae fix and Kent Marin tech m(bryopsis killer) . I dosed double the algae fix even triple sometimes what is recommended( do this slowly to see effects on your livestock) I had no I'll side effects to my livestock. you use the tech m to raise your mag to about 1600 and hold it there till you see bryopsis die. after a week of dosing I would get a tooth brush and scrub heavy problem areas and the stuff just comes off, and collected in my filter sock. any questions pm or call me james. be ready it takes a lot of tech m and it's a lil pricey, and remember test through out the treatment so nothing gets away from you.

Ammonia = 0 Ph = 8.2 Nitrite = 0 Nitrate = 20ppm and no I've got 2 Koralias and 2 AquaClears but no sign of them in there

Well I drip line all of my Livestock (thanks Mr Cobs Acc Kit) and waited an 1 1/2 with Sea Hare and 45min with Abalone. Just came Home to find My Yellow Wrasse on the Floor. Damm Jumpers ! Had him for a Year and NOW he Jumps !

Thanks for the Personel Experience and Tip. I've considered Algae Fix and have Read a few Threads like the one Regric Started about Raising Mag with Kent Tech M but don't want to think about how much that's gonna cost me. Although Karin stated that she did not need much do get the job done...

I'm goin to just assume for awhile that he has either burrowed into the sand as Troy Valentine has mentioned or that he is hiding in between deep rock caves I have with a full belly untill he's ready for food again as the LFS has mentioned

i used to service aquariums professionally, and i had serviced one tank for the better part of a year before i discovered their abalone, and it was about as big as a nerf football, and had come in as a hitchhiker on the live rock. They hide real well, as you have discovered. sea hares too, i had introduced one into a 60 gallon cube, and had presumed it dead after 3 months. 4 months later, i was gravel vac'ing when the tube filled with dark purple water, i stopped to investigate, and there was the sea hare stuck in my gravel vac, inking and angry, let him go, and didn't see him again for 2 months. It's truly amazing the camouflage some creatures have.

Lol yea it def is amazing how they naturaly disguise themselves and do what they do best in the wild only in captive tanks. I can only hope that the sea hare is still somewhere in my reef

on the briopsis, have you tried the peroxide thing? my dad had pretty bad briopsis and he started squirting peroxide on it in the tank with a medicine syringe and it is almost gone now in less than a month.

+1,000,000

Tech m is the way to go for getting rid of bryopsis. However, I had no success with algae fix - I think it sucks but just my opinion. Chris is totally right on scrubbing as well. You have to keep on this, pretty much daily until it's gone......or it will be a nightmare.
