May 2011 MAAST Meeting

Date: Saturday May 21st, 2011

Time: 9:30am-10:50am but Jason said we are welcome to hang out after to shop around and talk reef!

This will be a little different than previous meetings as you will bring your own camera to the meeting! We are then planning to go over a quick overview then split up with an advanced photographer to sharpen your photography skills. Please feel free to bring anything from a point and shoot to a DSLR. Maybe even Allan will explain how he gets such good iphone shots. lol

I did not ask about this but I guess you could bring it along and see what he says. I also have the one we made at the acrylic meeting that I could throw in the car. I will update the camera/people list tomorrow.

Im really looking forward to a hands on meeting much like the acrylic one and hopefully someone can teach me their secrets. lol

Count me in ofcourse... lol.... I'll be bringing my trusty Canon 40D and a tripod. That is another thing I would like to add... If you have a tripod, it might be helpful to bring that too.... Anyway to keep your camera as still as possible will help with a more sharper image. :D

For those of you that dont know Dustin, Cory (I think) and I are doing the presentation... Any camera will do even your camera phone lol.

Like Dustin said, if you have a tripod it might be a good idea to bring it. I will be bringing my tripod, Nikon D60 DSLR, remote, and my laptop for instant viewing of pics. I will also show you what program I use to edit/correct photos. It's gonna be fun! Hope to see you there!

I wont be bringing my point and shoot because my 2 year old got a hold of it and used it for basket ball practice. :( :)

Hey Rick, it'll be just you and Dustin. This upcoming weekend is my anniversary weekend. I could show up, but I'll need to sleep on someone's couch for a few weeks afterwards.

Hey guys, even a point and shoot can capture some impressive shots. It's all about timing, persistance, and understanding how the camera captures and processes the shot. Y'all should be in some really good hands there with Dustin and Rick leading you around.

Thank You Cory. :) But due to our boys having soccer games early in the a.m, Saturday. We will not be able to attend. I really wanted to go to this too... :( However, if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. :) I am always here to help...

Great job Dustin and Rick! I learned that my Point & Shoot actually has a way to adjust ISO manully among other settings!

Many thanks to Jason and all the guys at AD for letting us meet there and practice our new photo skills. Maybe we can post some of the better shots we got from today's lessons.
