What is every one using for pellet food? I feed frozen mysis, frozen brine in the afternoon and every morning live hatched brine. I want to add a little more verity to their deit. Any suggestions? Other foods besides pellets is also appreciated

I don't care much for pellet and flakes. Why bother with those fillers?
Frozen prawn eggs and oyster eggs are popular here. Freeze dried cyclopeez as well as the frozen variety is also well received. (Texas Tropical sells the frozen cyclopeez in a convenient freezer bar)
Algae paste for the oysters.

I like spectrum. Pellets are small and sink fast so you need to shut off pumps or have enough current to keeping them moving around.

You still have the oyster from the online order a while back? (was it GC reef?)

If you're looking for variety, get some Rod's food. I couldn't believe how much better my fish looked after feeding it for a few weeks. There's a little bit of everything in it and everything (including coral) respond well.

I use elos dry foods. They don't use poly phosphates as a preservative.

++ on the dainichi pellets. Sinks to the bottom fairly slow and whatever is left over is consumed by the clean up crew. Had a nice Potter's Angel that was very finicky, but he would eat those pellets like nothing else.

New Life Spectrum. Bob Fenner recommended it to me. We did a Group Buy a year or so ago - bought 5 lbs and we split it up.

I still prefer mostly frozen foods or freeze dried, but I do put some pellets in the automatic feeder. I rotate between dainichi, new life spectrum, and blue zoo mix. The blue zoo mix is definitely my favorite because its not really a "pellet." It has a wide variety of size and texture in every pinch.

What kind of algae problems? I haven't had any issues and like I said, the difference it made with my fish was unreal. One other thing, I am running biopellets so that may be why I haven't had algae problems. I feed quite a bit too.

Oh yeah. Dianichi seems pretty good. I feed it on e or twice a week. I sometimes feed LPS with it too. :P

I've almost gone entirely pellet food. The dainichi and spectrum.
The only fish I can't seem to get to eat it is the B cardinal.
I hold a sizable pinch just under the surface of the water and start releasing a little bit each time one of the fish nibbles my fingers.
I found that if I drop it onto the surface most end up in the overflow.
I still make my own stuff with HEB ingredients, and if I add any of the frozen food stuff I rinse it before putting it into my recipe.

I have 3 oysters from the Caribbean. Yes I still have all three (hopefully not jinxing myself saying this now)

I've tried the Rod's frozen food and I think since it's a mix of all kinds of different stuff how clean it will be eaten up will depend on your mix of fish. If you got a fish for everything in there you'll have less waste and less algae than if they just pick out certain things and repeatedly leave other stuff behind to rot.
I have none that would eat the broccoli in there or larger pieces so I didn't stick with that food.
I am not throwing stuff in there knowing it will just get wasted. Much easier to only add stuff individually knowing each of those components will get eaten

In-between my frozen mysis & brine feedings, they are fed new life spectrum pellets, ocean nutrition reef flakes, omega one veggie feggie flakes from my auto feeder(very handy)....

. . .ocean nutrition reef flakes, omega one veggie feggie flakes . . .
Same here. Mine seem to like the flakes much better than the pellets. I stick with these brands since they seem cleaner in the water than most "junk food" flakes. The ingredients list makes me want to dine out at red lobster.
I try to keep the flake/pellet feeding to a minimum; my tank is cleaner when I avoid them.
