Hi Everyone,
My name is Clay and I've been into SW for about 14yrs now.For the last 9 yrs I have had a SW-grass tank and that is where My focus has been for the most part.

Well, the Wife and I are finally able to go on a vacation, just the two of Us(the kid moved out on Her own last year) and My Wife said She wants to go see the ocean.Since the coasts are so far away from Us,We decided to go too the Gulf.To some landlocked Kansas people, the gulf is close enough too an ocean for Us.

So in a few weeks We will be headed for the Texas shore.Which brings Me too My questions.I haven't been to Texas since I was a little kid and I was wondering, what is there in Texas to go see/do?We will have about a week before heading back too Kansas.

The last couple of days I want to go see the turtlegrass beds down in south Laguna Madre.I still have to get a hold of people at the Padre Island National Park to see what restrictions they have there,on collecting critters.

So lets hear a little bragging on Texas.(oops..I forgot, everything in Texas is bigger)How about a lot of bragging.:lauging:

If you wait till july there is a MAAST Port Aransas collection trip that you could tag along with.

That would be the one in Corpus Christi I take it!?What would be the average time someone would take to go through and see everything there?Would it take a day, half a day,a couple hours? We will probably stop by there on the way down south. How far away is GCReef from the Aquarium?

I wish I had thought about finding an aquarium club in the region sooner. That would be an awesome trip! But,it's too late,We can't change the dates very easy.

The last time we went through the aquarium it took us about 4 hours, but that was with the kiddo leading the way. I can't help with the distance to GCReef as I am not from that area. Hopefully one of the locals from the Corpus area can help you out with some more things to do and directions.

It sounds like fairly good size place then, big, yet not too big to get around, and then still have enough time to go too GCReef's.lol Thanks!
