Yeah they normally are but my cube runs almost dead silent. Its all about finding the right drain speed. The only noise i have is from the mag pump in the sump. I have it padded so the pump isn't on the glass but the mags are just noisy in general.

Thanks for the comments guys

That's interesting. Might have been my problem then: I am running it closed loop without powerheads so I need it to drain as fast as possible. Had to remove the Marineland drain and replace it with an All Glass drain for my purposes.

The Firefish will be pretty. Are you adding a Mesh top?

Thanks. I like firefish even though they are one of the biggest beginner easy fish. I'm definately going to be adding a mesh top to the tank. I just have to get around to building it.

Thanks for the comment. The tank is pretty much going to be all SPS with a few clams and one of my RBT's, at least that is the plan for right now.

Ill start taking more pictures as soon as i figure out how to use my girlfriends new nikon. I know a lot about reef tanks but absolutely nothing about photography so we will see

Sweet looking cat Kyle... I like the tank too... :)

I guess you got a light. Geissman, wow! They make good stuff!

Post the picture of your cat that's on your phone. That one is an instant classic.

if it turns out anything like your 10gal sps miracle at the store, OR the display tank you have done at the store, this should be one hell of a build buddy!

Now, get that Geissman back to the store!!!! lol, just kidding, I am glad it works after being in storage for so long. I had that same light over my tank while I waited for my light to come in.
